League of Legends, a.k.a. LoL, was first released in 2009 by Riot Games and became a fast success. LoL is deemed the game responsible both for the popularity of e-sports as well as the expansion of the MOBA genre.

With the passing of time, the number of mobile games, which until then were taken as inferior, has increased. The diversity in titles and in terms of genre induced Riot to catch up and create a version of LoL to placate the growing popular demand. That’s where LoL Wild Rift, released in America on September 29th, comes in.

LoL x LoL Wild Rift: scenario and items

The first thing we can notice about LoL Wild Rift is that it was created from scratch. It’s not one of those cases where contents of the previous game were just transferred to its updated version. The goal behind it was to turn the gaming experience into something much more dynamic – simpler playability and being able to play for short periods of time.

Those changes were possible because LoL Wild Rift was built in an entirely new software. As such, it comes with an updated map. Users can also expect a slightly altered arena where the positioning of certain items were changed, affecting the way you play. Thanks to the mirrored feature, names like Top and Bot are no longer necessary in the mobile version.

In LoL Wild Rift, the three familiar towers are back, but this time they are the only ones and there are less moves available. Inhibitors are also gone and there’s nothing protecting Nexus, which makes him act as a tower to compensate and causing damage just the same.

As for the honeyfruit, in Lol Wild Rift it can be found along the lanes and not just by rivers. The monsters in the jungle remain the same. However, the time they take to reappear was cut shorter and they have more meaningful buffs in order to shorten the matches. This also makes capturing an Elder Dragon a rather rare event.

The mirroring feature of the map happens because, for ergonomy’s sake, all players appear at the bottom of the map. The names of the lanes were also altered to avoid confusion, according to the most important goals near each lane. The new icons of the lanes reflect that as well.

You may get less items, but you don’t need to wait until the last attack on the minions to get some gold. The fields near the lanes grow quicker and the minions start showing up after just a few seconds. LoL Wild Rift also shows the MVP instead of the usual ranking and you can buy TP with a boot spell since boots have their own category.

LoL x LoL Wild Rift: the champions

The champions were also remade for LoL Wild Rift visually, mechanically and in terms of skills. To begin with, players had access to over 140 champions on the PC, while mobile users see no more than 60. One good thing is that they all come at the same price.

The makeover focuses on keeping champions up-to-date and makes them and the game as a whole much easier on the eyes. Being able to have a much closer look at the champions in their specific page adds a charm to it.

The skills of the champions match the dynamic of shorter and busier matches and fortunately some of the updates come in both games. This means that on mobile they can run and shoot at the same time and you get your ultimate on level 5, for example.

Regardless if you intend to try the mobile version of LoL or if you stick to the PC, you can always enjoy our payment methods by having a look at this link. PIX feature coming soon!
